Gynaecologist

Post by rambo »

My wife's gynaecologist is not part of the GESY system, can anyone recommend one in the Paphos area, PM if you feel it necessary.

Rambo, as you will need a letter of Referral from your GP to the Gesy Gynaecologist, why not ask your GP who he or she recommends.

Unlike all other Specialist Doctors it is not necessary for a woman to get a referral letter from her Personal Doctor to see a gynaecologist.

''In particular, the beneficiaries will have the right of direct access without the provision of a referral by the PD to gynaecologists and obstetricians for gynaecological issues for women who have reached the age of 15''.

A number of gynaecologists (male and female) at the Well Woman Clinic at the Evangelismos Hospital come highly recommended, eg Dr Nestoras Michael.Tel: 26 848 000 to make an appointment.

Dr Stella Spyrou at Blue Cross Medical Centre Tel: 2622111 to make appointment.

These two are on GESY.

As Galexinda posted,

If she needs to see a private Gynaecologist then of course she will not need to have any referral as she is not in the GHS system (Gesy), most of the private hospitals have excellent facilities, the Anvangelismos in particular, they have to my knowledge at least three Gynaecologists. There will be at least one who is on Gesy (GHS) books.

I wish her well.

I had the full check up last year at the Evangelismos and the cost came to €260.00 as I was seen as a private patient.

Hence my recent thread about having to get my immigration record and medical record corrected because I understand the cost through GESY and seeing the same gynaecologist for the same tests would amount to no more than €30.
