What is the deal with satellite dishes in Cyprus? The concrete plinths still remain but where once there were dishes they have all vanished. It was before our time and I was just puzzled as to why?

Sky launched new satellites with a beam that was more concentrated on the UK , hence we could no longer receive it here in CY .

In the old days, if you had a problem with Sky you NEVER told them you lived in Cyprus as all the access cards were purchased in UK from a UK address and fell off a plane flying past Cyprus...know what I mean!

Exactly my sentiments ....

100 euros per month?
I would not pay that, but suspect the real cost will be a lot less.
I would prefer to deal direct with Sky rather than via a third party.

Sorry but I must be missing something here, why would I want to pay an extra 80 euros a month when I get all the channels I need & more? :?

The dispute with Sky and the Discovery TV network has now been resolved, so it is staying active on Mags etc.

A flash banner yesterday on the Discovery network said all is well and thanked it's viewers? not sure what we had to do with the outcome.
