losing internet connection

Just lately my laptop loses internet connection, say's I'm connected but no internet !!! it reconnects easily but what causes it ? any ideas please

Try turning the router off at the plug for a minute then back on. often does the job.

It may be a coincidence, however, are you both with the same service provider ?

Same problem here. On my laptop as well as on my tablet but never on my cellphone (even in Wifi mode). When I switch Wifi off and on again it reconnects without any fiddling with the router so I don´t think it has to do with the provider.

Try logging in to the router and changing the wifi channel from auto to 3 or 10, or ask cyta if you can upgrade the router to the new model which has 2.4GHZ and 5GHZ wifi.The wifi signal is probably being interfered with from a nearby signal.

I assume your cyta router is the previous model.

I am with primetel and I first lost my wi fi connection in dec last year. Switching off the wifi button and then on again solves the problem. But it has happened several times since . One day it happened three times! I contacted primetel and an engineer monitored the line. Of course during this period it was fine . Sods law I think its called. The last time it happened was about three weeks ago . So all in all its not that often but seems to go in bursts.

Everything else connected with ethernet is fine.
