Problem Logging in to Gmail

Has anyone had problems logging in to their Gmail account using Outlook 2016 over the last couple of days. I can access directly but like to be able to read my emails off-line.

I think google now class Outlook as insecure, as it stores your password. My gmail account got an email telling me that an application had been blocked. I followed a link in there and in order to get Outlook and gmail working again I had to tell GMail to allow less secure applications.

You're a star. Once I found out where to allow non-secure applications on the Gmail site (which took a bit of tooing and froing) this sorted the problem. Thanks again.
