When we arrived here thirty odd years ago, the Cypriots called them Sexy fruit, even in the stores

Unfortunately they remind me of frog spawn!

A friend of ours gave us a cutting from a Dragon fruit, just pushed it into the earth, and a year or two later it is over a metre high in all directions, no sign of fruit yet.

Your post is quite a coincidence HIC. I was just wondering earlier this morning if passion fruit grew well in Cyprus and how easy it would be to grow.

I've not long come back from a holiday where I was starting and ending my day with passion fruit - in the morning scooped over plain yoghurt for breakfast, and in the evening in my rum after dinner!

I love Passion fruit too. Had one in ground when we bought house but it died. Always mean to plant another one - you have inspired me again, HIC. Have two Pomegranates and they are doing quite well in their second year. Not a good year for Apricots, however x

HIC, how many years do they take from planting until fruiting? I think we’ve lost a couple of trees this year so could be an option to try as a replacement.

Thanks

Polemi peeps, as we get winter frost we may need to protect any plants with fleece

Shame about your fig tree, Lloyd. I loooove figs. For breakfast, for snacks, for dessert ... I eat loads. One of my trees is a double cropper, so I always make fig jam and fig chutney too, and a friend has a dehydrator to make dried fruit ...
