Bollards

Post by Paul »

Can someone in paphos advise us on where to buy some traffic bollards.
We need 3 as the house we are in is on a corner and has been hit.
The people are going to repair the damage and cannot say sorry to us enough, they have photos and have seen the damage.
I plan to put some bollards on the corner to push cars and vans away from our property.

It sounds as though your home has no pavements between the wall and the roadway..
If this is so, do make sure that you are allowed to impede the roadway in the way you describe ..

Only the council can put bollards on a road, be careful because if the bollards cause someone to have an accident, then its you who will be in the brown stuff, go see someone in the council especially as you have proof its a dangerous place, and get them to sort something out.

I have spoken to the Muktar and he has seen the damage and has said I can put 2 bollards 1 meter x 10 cm outside close to the walls to make drivers move out a little so as to miss our property.

Can't speak for other villages but Chris, our Mukhtar here in Tremithousa is a very fair and reasonable man and have always found him very accommodating and helpful. Would like to think he would adjudicate fairly and reasonably in a case like this, just as your Mukhtar seems to have done Paul. Well done.

Well we got the bollards as Minerva said they have them in Homemarket, there only €16.95 each.
Next job to place them as agreed with the Mukatar, I will put a photo up when the job is done as we are forecast some.

Keep a constant eye on the bollards as they do have a tendency to disappear

As a side note the Muktar has seen them and approved them.
