I pay €5 at the Eko filling station in Chloraka - it's cheap and fast. Not as good as they used to be but still very convenient (and good enough for my truck).

If I could afford nearly two million for a Bugatti, seven grand would be small change, to keep it in tip top condition, im told there are three of these cars on Island, and a set of brake disc pads are five grand, that doesn't include the cost of the mechanics to fly over and fit them

We use the Eko Garage on the way to Geriskipou, on the occasions that we don't do it ourselves. €10 inside and out, or €5 for just the outside. Good service.

I mix car washes with my own efforts but when I feel the need it cost €7's plus a tip, I use the Petrol station near Tala, usually do a better job than me, and it is just too hot to bother at the moment.

Same as Jim above, but I use the filling station in Pegeia alongside the DIY store free coffee all for €7,00.

Knowing what I know now, I would not use any of them. But then I am a bit obsessive (massive understatement) and it took me the best part of 3 days to get our new car up to a base standard I’m happy with to maintain.

Ok, should have said “new to me” but it’s only a few months old when we bought it and was allegedly detailed by the dealer in the U.K. prior to shipping.

Here’s my routine:

- Wheels decontaminated and rinsed
- tyres scrubbed and rinsed
- pre washed car with snow foam and rinsed, use detailing brushes for nooks and crannies
- handwashed, rinsed and dried
- paintwork treated with decontamination treatment and rinsed
- paint further decontaminated with clay bar
- handwashed, rinsed and dried again
- cleaner fluid applied and buffed off
- polish applied and buffed off
- finis-wax applied and buffed off
- detail spray applied and buffed off for a bit of extra gloss and wax protection
- glass cleaned and buffed
- tyres dressed
- alloys waxed

Fresh cloths and drying towels used for each stage and all of these washed ready for the next session - a much shorter maintenance wash.

For any other total nerds like my have a look at a YouTube channel called “Forensic Detailing Channel

True story, a mates wife back in the day, thought she would clean his car, because he was a plumber and worked all the hours God sent, and his pride and joy 3litre Capri was looking a bit neglected.... so one day while he was at work she washed it, I kid you not, she used fairy liquid and a scouring pad, it looked like Torvill and Dean had skated all over it.... after thirty odd years he still feels the pain.

There is a mobile car wash that has started up recently, they advertise quite a lot on FB. They came out and did 2 of our cars, including the headlights on one of them. They did a very good job and we were impressed. They have a sign written van with all their equipment in and bring their own water, just need electricity for the vacuum. €10 for a car wash and €15 for the headlights. 'Gavrilis Mobile Car Wash'.
