Yeroskipou wants to "swap land" to save ancient site from development

Yeroskipou council hopes to persuade the authorities to swap a piece of land earmarked for development for another nearby to protect the site which is of significant archaeological interest.Protests against the planned two tower blocks and a hotel have been whipped up after important finds were announced??in??the area, according to the local mayor....

Just hope the council are successful. I regularly walk over this land and, as well as being an archaeological site, it is a green area within the hotel area and a haven for wildlife and wild flowers. In spring, locals can be found picking wild asparagus and other roots.
