Post by Paphos Life »

Rodent numbers are spiralling out of control in some areas and municipalities cannot control them because they lack funding, it was reported on Monday....

My cats are pretty good at vermin control. One seems to specialise in mice, the younger one catches (and eats 🤢) rats, the latest being dispatched last evening as the sun went down.

Those who do not like cats, must have been mice in a former life!

How lucky we are. We have a few cats in our area and so keep the vermin down. So far this month we have found two dead rats. Thanks to the cats. We do not feed the cats but leave fresh water daily for them

If only more people did not leave food out for cats.

If onlthem don't understand that the y more people did not leave food out for cats.
That's right WHL ,cats are predatory animals, the kind hearted people who regularly feed then don't understand that they training them not to be,,predatory cos they don't have to be.Hence the increase in rodents.....Rocket science??

Whilst enjoying my mug of filter coffee this morning, I sat watching a large Tree Rat. Hmm not nice. At least the tree is some distance away and we have our feral cats.

I also wish people would stop feeding feral cats. There is plenty of food around for them.

We feed our stray cat once a day... So it just shows that some of us have different wishes..

I also believe that someone feeds stray cats up at Tala Monastery ... And a lady feeds stray cats in Paphos Old Town...

Trev I think your stray has kind of adopted you though. There is a difference between feeding a moggy that turns up on your doorstep and actively going out looking for them to feed.
