Thermal storms will affect Cyprus starting tomorrow Wednesday
It changes the weather from tomorrow Wednesday, as rain and storms are expected, despite the fact that we are in mid-July.
Speaking at SigmaLive, the Director of the Department of Meteorology, Kleanthis Nikolaidis, said that the Central Mediterranean, namely Southern Italy and Greece, are affected by a low-pressure system.
For this system, which was "baptized" in Greece under the name "Antinoos", an orange warning has been issued in both countries for intense storms.
As Mr Nicolaidis said, this system will have a very weak impact on our region.
The storms that are expected to affect us, he said, are a thermal cause due to the very high temperatures prevailing in Cyprus and low pressure in the middle atmosphere.
Detailed Weather:
On Wednesday, the weather will be mostly sunny, but clouds that grow early in the afternoon will likely give rain or storms in the mountains or even inside. At night, transient elevations are expected to give local rains and possible thunderstorms, mostly in the west and north. The temperature will not change remarkably, to be near the climatic averages.
On Thursday, the weather will be mostly sunny, with locally elevated clouds at intervals, and in the morning there may be isolated rains, in the west and north. However, clouds growing early in the afternoon are expected to give rise to isolated rains or storms in the mountains, the interior or the southeast-east coast. The temperature will drop, mainly in the interior and the mountains, to range just below the climatic averages.
