Filiotis Fish Tavern (my review)

Post by cyprusmax47 »

As Dominic asked me to write a review from my favourite fish tavern at Timi beach and send some photos for the directory, here we are....

As a sea food lover I can only recommend this fish tavern, where one can sit in the summer month not even a meter away from the sea and enjoy really fresh fish from the day, which is mainly caught with their own fishing boats in the next bay. It is a real family business where the owner is chef in the kitchen and his sister responsible for the service. Also the waiter/waitress in the busy season is very friendly and attentive. The village salad is always very fresh and delicious. They grow their own potatoes right behind the building and cut the chips in the traditional Cypriot way. Also their complimentary desserts are home made and vary with the time of the year. Excellent variety of quality wines from the area, specially the Tsangarides white wine which comes also in small bottles. I visit this tavern every Saturday since years as it is more quiet than on a Sunday, when the place is very popular with Cypriots and Russians.

Hello Max, I am sure you are the same Max my uncle knows. He met you in the 80s in paphos. You have a lovely wife called Sandy? He thinks she was from Switzerland or Sweden?
Small world if this is you.
The fish taverna looks amazing. Never been there but will definitely give it a try. Maybe I can persuade my uncle to come on a Saturday to catch up? He is now in his late 80s but is very good for his age. If you are the same Max, you are slim, tall and glasses??

Ha ha, you still have that diary? and yes it was my own Harley Davidson. We raised a lot of money with that diary all for local charity.
