Paphos marina study to look at option to include cruise ship facilities

The original plans of 10 - 12 years ago, included a cruise terminal at Potima. This was then removed due to cost reasons. Potima was chosen as it has the depth to suit cruise ships and is an unsuitable bay for bathing. It is also close enough to Paphos for easy transportation. Tourists on cruise liners would generally do excursions to historical sites, arts locations or natural wonders. Paphos is better located for that than Limassol. In my experience, most passengers disembark for the day, returning before dinner time, so a full day on location. Only the skinflints, very old or sunbathers remain on the ship or return for lunch.

Not necessarily , many cruise passengers are repeat passengers, that have seen the sights before, we have seen many of these sights, so we get off the ship to stretch our legs and have a couple of drinks, and do a bit of shopping ,only so many times you want walk around the Vatican/ Acropolis etc,
