Treatment plant still burying solid waste

The waste treatment plant at Pentakomo - processing the municipal refuse of the Limassol district - is still resorting to burying the vast majority of the by-products generated there, the Sunday Mail is told, ironic because the purpose of building a mechanical biological treatment plant, like the one in Pentakomo, was to end the practice of burying solid waste....

The whole issue of Waste is one of Cyprus' most lacunate errors. I was in discussion with officials on the subject as long ago as 11 years, when I wrote a 30-odd page report on the subject, to no effect.

Lacunate - another word for lacunose.

Lacunose - Furrowed or pitted; having shallow cavities or lacunæ; as, a lacunose leaf.

So what are lacunate errors?
