Gesy saga again!

Post by darrow »

Visited general hospital this morning for a pre arranged appt with specialist for MOH. All was well, but when the specialist went to enter the details, nowhere to be found.! He told us to make appt for September but, if we weren't registered by then he wouldn't be able to see us.
This prompted a 17000 call to GESY when we returned home! Eventually found a helpful lady who took name and DOB, after first call got nowhere,(I phoned back). She said MOH was approved. I asked where was confirmation email, told to go and see Doctor. I asked about mine, not approved yet!. So how do I know when approved if I don't get an email? See the Doctor! That sounds logical! Good news is, no more paper work! Everything will be on computer on Ist September specialist said. Hmmm....

That's similar what happened to us! We applied on-line much earlier in the year and the GESY website stated our application was pending approval. We went to see our Personal Doctor on 8th May to see if she could speed things up. She entered our numbers from the application forms and all of a sudden, sitting in her surgery, we got emails stating our application had been approved and to register with a doctor, followed by another one stating we had applied and successfully been put on her list and then she printed off our verification codes so we could access our medical records. So best to revisit your Personal Doctor to see if that helps darrow.

I have joined GESY by an easier route. My (formerly private ) doctor had joined Gesy. But she emailed her own application form to formee patients reg with her with instructions to fill in all the details required for enrollment, then to take it to her practice reception with your documents. When I had complied with her instructions, I turned up as requested. She had an extra staff member whose job was to deal with all requests for registration. Thus my details were entered, and they raised the necessary reg docs for Gesy. I was told to wait a while for my result from Gesy to come through. Which I did. When I rang up again some 6 weeks later, I was told that Gesy had accepted me. I then had to go back to the surgery to sign the contract between me and my doctor today.
So maybe its worth applying to one of the former private doctors who have joined the scheme as their method to help patients enroll was so much easier than battling with that web site on line which has given some people an extra headache.

We both joined the Gesy system via Dr Mala at Chloraka, and the system works fine for the both of us.
I have had a visit to a hospital consultant this morning and he found me online... gave me a prescription for tablets and an appointment was made at the appointments window for 6 months in the future..
I have to get a blood test at a Gesy lab.. before I visit him next time. And although I have made an appointment I have to get a referral from my GP before I visit him :-)
