My all singing all dancing Mitsubushi COLT Gti was stolen in Birmingham in 1998, insurers paid out within a week and it was found a few months later totally stripped.

In the UK a car is stolen every 5 minutes. As you say, it is all relative.

I had a Toyota in the UK. Spare parts were very very expensive for it. I would think this may be driving the choice for car thieves.
