Caritas Open Day

Post by Dominic »

We support Caritas Paphos and the work they do. They are having an Open Day soon.

This is their latest Press Release, please share it far and wide:

CARITAS PAPHOS OPEN DAY
Latin Parish Centre, ToK Rd, Chlorakas
Saturday, June 22nd, 10 – 2

Caritas works in Paphos to support vulnerable people of any race and faith. Most of our beneficiaries are refugees escaping from life-threatening situations in various countries: Syria, Iraq, Cameroon, Somalia, Nigeria, for example. Some are migrant workers, housemaids, carers, farm workers, or students, mainly from Philippines, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Bangladesh and Nepal. Some are Cypriot, Greek, expat British or other. All have lives which have hit a crisis.

Please join us for an Open Day on Saturday, June 22nd. Meet some of the refugees and some of our helpers in the newly refurbished Latin Parish Centre. Hear refugee stories. Why and how did they come to Cyprus? What is it like as a refugee here? What is it really like to be a housemaid? Ask questions; find some answers; sample free light refreshments –including some Syrian specialities. Hear about the work of Caritas Learning Refuge, or Caritas Paphos food programme which supplies over 40 households a week.

Dispel the myths and misconceptions! Meet the people!
