When we had visitors a few weeks ago we visited Kurium, the Mosaics and Paleopahos at Kouklia. We had not been for some time and our visitors were very impressed. Certainly as impressive as many sites in Greece, and a great deal more has been uncovered at all of these sites since we last visited, about 5 years ago.

In the real real world do you really think that Paphos and Cyprus really is serious competition to such places as Venice, South of France, Athens, etc.
Look at the new marina at Limassol, is it used or just a way for Russian's to invest some dubious money in exchange for an EU passport, is the marina used for what it was built for? Are the luxury properties there lived in?
Is the marina at St Raphael used? You cannot even walk around the marina there and the greater majority of boats there never leave the facility.
Lets look at the limassol marina, all the properties are sold, restaurants and bars full , you will have to wait, to get a seat, a family member of mine has a yacht moored there, costs him twenty grand a year in rent, comes over often and spends a bunch of money each time, good news bfor the economy, sorry mate , but people like you are all doom and gloom 8-)

I have some good friends that go on many cruises and they are always looking for somewhere different and don’t want to go back to Athens, Venice, south of France et al so places like Paphos are a nice change.

Your correct many of the cruise companies use the same ports of call, and it would be good to have new places to visit, the main ports to pick up a cruise are Athens/Civitavecchia Rome/ Venice for Eastern Mediterranean and Barcellona for the West Mediterranean, having Cyprus as a port of call would allow people to join/leave the cruise in Cyprus, possibly adding a few days stay in Cyprus. Also Cyprus could be incorporated into Middle Eastern cruises, win win for everyone.
