I am just a little puzzled as to why you would want to find out the status of your application, if you have already received your MEU3

No expiry date on mine .

Just checked application form and MEU3 document and agree with the above comments that the expiry date on the application form refers to the expiry date of the Travel Document (Passport) and there is no expiry date on the MEU3 itself.

Noted that on the application form the ARC number is the same as the one that was required by GESY and yet the registration number on the MEU3 is the shortened version that is used for eg Cypriot Driving Licence, Cyprus Medical Card. No wonder people are having difficulties registering for GESY!

If you have a MEU3 and are not an EU citizen, then it will have an expiry date that is 10 years from date of issue. If you are an EU citizen, then it will not have an expiry date.

The MEU3 is issued to EU citizens and their dependents. If Farage & Co have their way, how long before the Migration Dept decides that UK (non-EU) citizens will need to start the drama of getting a different piece of paper?

I was led to believe that Non-EU citizens were issued with a MEU 2, not a MEU 3. Am I wrong?

MU3 is issued to EU citizens and their non EU dependents but are only valid for 10 years for the dependents. An MU2 is issued to non EU citizens. As stated earlier UK citizens will more than likely have to apply for an MU2 if there's a Brexit.

To clarify, EU citizens get an MEU1 (no expiry date) to start with. Their non-EU dependants get an MEU2 (valid for 5 years) to start with. After 5 years both can apply for an MEU3. This has no expiry date for EU citizens, 10 years validity for non-EU dependants.

After 7 years (or 8 depending which government form you read), you can apply for naturalisation (a Cyprus passport and citizenship) subject to a number of conditions. This is done at the local District Office, not immigration.
