Car park in the old town
Car park in the old town
Had a walk round the old town this morning and couldn't believe all the building work going on, places boarded up and places being knocked about.
Does anyone know what the car park outside Next is going to be, it is completley been chopped up and a new layout being put down.
Must say the new coffee place by the new lift looks lovely now.

Another car park if I have read this article correctly:
“The area, road, and its facades along with the two existing car parks, will be redeveloped and the facilities will have a capacity of 100 spaces,” the municipality said.

The work seems scheduled to last for months, all through the busy tourist season when max car parking is needed to enable people to get to the old town... good timing??

Hi Flossie,
You are right about the Mosque car park, have only been there once with someone else. It is difficult to find as it isn’t signposted... don’t think I would nec find it again if I tried! But it isn’t very big compared with the main Car parks.

The mosque carpark is pretty big, and easy enough to find. If you are driving round the one way system, past tyre shop with the nice mural, the carpark they are repairing is on your right. You simply turn left at the junction by the cafe, and it is the first left.

You also have the Markideio Theatre Car Park, which is very big.

Indeed there is. You get a nice view of the back of the mosque there. And if you walk around to the road opposite the carpark they are repairing, the kebab joint to your right do superb kebabs.

Can't believe I haven't put it in the restaurant directory. I will have to rectify that. But yes, their sheftalia are top notch. I normally have a mixed kebab as I like a bit of variety.

Sorry to be thick, but I couldn't see this kebab house when I was in the old town at lunch time. Do you mean the Zodiac is on the one-way street going up to Emba?
By the way, El Presidente is coming to Ibrahim's Kahn on Friday for an official opening. It was manic this morning, with a hell of a lot of work going on. I saw the mayor wondering around clearly telling everyone to get a move on. Apparently, according to one shop owner, he has told the contractors that if they're not finished by tomorrow lunch time they might as well get on a plane somewhere as they won't be getting paid!
