New European law sees ban on single-use plastic items

The use of single use plastic items including plates, cutlery, straws and cotton buds will have to be stamped out by 2021 following the approval on Wednesday evening by the European Parliament of a law banning them....

It will be interesting to see what happens to plastic cutlery on aeroplanes?

Airlines could easily use wooden cutlery. Wood knifes are sharp.

Just wondered if this will be implemented in Cyprus from 3 July?

'Business leaders have warned green-minded members of the public not to expect Cyprus to become a single-use plastic-free zone on July 3, when an EU directive banning such items is supposed to come into force'.

I should have out a smiley. I was being sarcastic. Sbocking what plastic has done to the planet. Micro beads that we didn't even know existed has polluted the seas.
