It woke me up just before 8 am, huge crashes of thunder, and the whole of the back patio is white with hail, I thought all of my new plants were going to be destroyed with the force of the hail, I honestly don't think I have ever seen anything quite like it.

Was the hail big enough to damage cars? Mine is not currently parked undercover and I'm currently travelling so can't check if ok.

I was up at 0600hrs with my coffee and at about 0700hrs a huge bang of thunder and a few seconds later another Massive Bang and a bright orange flash. I could smell smoke. We are with CYTA and the router had burnt out. Later a phone call to CYTA and they said take it in with all cables and it would be replaced with a new one FOC. This we did Now all back up and running and dare I say the WIFI seems a tad faster?

Thanks Flossie. This is our first winter in Cyprus and having travelled the world I've never seen anything like it.

Was the hail bad enough to damage cars parked in the open, depends on where you live and how big the hail was, if you got away with great.

The photos Jim posted are nothing compared to Kathikas on Sunday afternoon. Insane. If I could work out how to add photos I would.

We were caught out in the open, walking the dogs! We found shelter under a tree! I ran back to the house to collect the car, We were all soaked to the skin and yes, the hailstones do hurt! The thunder scared the dogs, who kept looking for reassurance, which, of course, none was forthcoming! We all got dried off eventually!

Yoouwwweeee! Trees are the last place under which to shelter in thunder and lightning!!!

Cars on the other hand are the best place to be - 4 rubber boots!
