Solar P.V Panels insurance

Post by daveg »

Quick query, do other Solar PV owners out there insure the PV panels?
Is it worth doing so?
Thanks

We have no insurance to specifically cover the PV panels and requirement.. They are guaranteed for certain length of time anyway..
They would I think be covered for accidental damage by the house insurance

As far as I know there is no Cypriot Insurer so far, covering damage of PV systems. But you can ask your house insurance if they would pay for damage.
Panels ( PV panels are called modules) can only have a problem through heavy wind (your supplier responsible) or struck by lightning, in which case also the inverter and cables perhaps will be affected. This would be a case for the insurer then....

Hi Trev, I believe you have your house insurance through Intasure? As do I, they are asking a further £118 to insure the PV panels.......
