This bloody weather.

Post by JimX »

Morning won't say good.

I guess all of those who live here will say the same, enough is enough, dams have overflowed streets are like canals, if I hear one more person say we need the rain I will scream :) OK you can do nout about this but this is as bad as I can remember, now we all need some Cyprus sun. 8-) again!

As I write this it is hammering it down in Trimithousa. (webcam shot)

Cold, miserable, wet and windy. Long johns on, fluffy slippers, thermal T shirt, heavy winter shirt, thick woolly jumper. Gas fire warming the room. Nice mug of coffee from the perculater. Full English breakfast.
Now settled to sort the world out.

Good Morning to you all.

Now we're experiencing the proper Cyprus winter - December-mid-January was unprecedented.

Louise,,it depends on which side you enter the village,,from one side its spelt with an E and from the other side spelt with an I.For the last ten years or so we have always spelt it with an E and had no trouble, except in our local oasis the other afternoon when the matter caused a huge debate,,i mean lets face it,,serious stuff indeed!

I was starting to think I was the only one so fed up of all this weather....our first winter here so we do wonder what a real Cyprus winter is like, but I guess we have to wait until next winter now to find out, but living in a big freezing cold concrete box....I caught a cold which I couldn't get rid of for months, I got fed up of tackling mold and flaking paint, and have honestly never felt so cold in my life, but what surprises me is that not once have I thought that I would rather be in the UK, even though I sometimes dream of radiators and central heating.
But I am seriously awaiting some sunshine which hubby tells me will be this week, and friends of ours have told us that normally by the second week in March we will start getting more sunshine.....of course living in Tsada hasn't helped so we will definitely be moving at the end of the summer, and this time to a house with some radiators lol....but I have enjoyed this thread and I love hearing that it isn't normally like this...hearing people moan somehow makes me feel better lol.

Chaddy, this has been discussed several times.

''Off topic a little, but is it Trimithousa or TrEmithousa :?''

It can be spelt either way depending on what sign you look at, I usually spell it Tremithousa but mail always gets here spelled with an 'E' it does not matter.
