Secure way to send a package to the UK

I have a box of memorabilia to send to my daughter in the UK (no real monetary value),about the size of a shoe box. Can anyone advise me of a secure method of delivery as if lost it cannot be replaced.

You can use a courier service from the Post Office..

I would be wary of using recorded delivery. Things may have changed in the years since I worked with the UK post, but recorded deliveries were just mixed in with ordinary post, with no special security measures, and just signed for at the point of delivery. In recent years I have received odd recorded items that have just been posted through our letterbox.
