I nearly missed it.... (pics)

Post by cyprusmax47 »

Half an hour ago I was wondering if I can see rain on the PL webcams page in order to walk the dog when I realized great looking clouds at Dominic's cam. I had a look outside and running to get the camera going I was a little bit too late, but still impressive....

Towards airport and sea

It certainly gave us yet another good drenching.

Those must have been the clouds over us in Anarita. We had a downpour and a few loud thunderclaps. Now going to the chippie in Mandria. Hope it keeps dry.

This morning no special sunrise... but no wonder with all the humidity rising....

but if we are lucky the February sun is going to eat most of the clouds. :?: at least I hope so that I can enjoy my Saturday fish lunch near the sea..

Just to finish the story: YES, I could enjoy a very large Barracuda again, sitting outside and as the sun was at least shining while I had lunch - alone of course, while all the other guests preferred indoor dining...but I must admit it was the coldest midday at the beach this winter....

I was surprised how many fish lovers appeared today after 1 PM when I had finished already my Greek coffee...

nice waves at the tavern's beach...

I definitely enjoyed my Barracuda and as it was again much too big for one person I ordered a small bottle of "white" Tsangarides Xynisteri instead of the KEO beer ( http://www.cavaway.com/shop/products/pw ... hite-75cl/ ) in order to have more space in my belly.
This time I ordered fine chopped garlic to make my own Aioli (garlic sauce) which was excellent with the fish and so easy to prepare. ( just the garlic, sea salt, olive oil and some drops of lemon mixed).

But back to the cold temperatures outside: first it is only relative when coming from my place at 10c and at the sea side it is 17c it feels quite comfortable, specially when there is no wind. On the other hand I was wearing jeans and a "thermo-jumper" for which is normally no any use in Cyprus.
To sit indoors with all the gas fires on would put me off.! I rather eat a bit faster and have the lovely noise from the sea nearby and some rays of the sun on my back... :)
