Applying for Cypriot Driving License

Post by peyiageoff »

My neighbor wants to change her UK driving license for a Cypriot one, can she do this if
she doesn't have a utility bill in her name ? All utilities are still in her landlords name.
She does not have permanent residency status .... only pink slip.

Any help appreciated

When I did mine in October all I needed was existing licence and passport or MEU1 form. Used the admin office, Stevie’, by the Papantoniou I by the traffic lights in town. Doddle. Cost was €25 plus the €40 you pay the transport department.

Things must have changed then as it used to be that if you were changing from a UK Licence to a Cypriot one you had to do it at the Ministry of transport. David did you have to have the Medical form completed as well

The citizens centre is a better place in my opinion

I thank the Lord I did mine 5 years ago, so no excessively long wait, but Attila the Hun was there then :?

I do seem to remember she sent me out to get my own photocopies, traipsed back up to Tremi and back again and joined the queue. I swear she was laughing behind her hand!

There is a photo copier down the corridor in the end room on the right ;-) ;-)

Had to renew my Cypriot Driving licence last November as hitting the 70 mark! Straight forward, picked up forms from Citizens Advice Centre, eye test with my opticians (Eye Contact) visit to Dr Mala for medical and back to the Advice Centre. Forms completed in 10 minutes issued a temp licence and told I would be texted when new card ready in about 4 weeks.

That didn't happen though so in January went down and showed temp to staff and that flicked a 'light bulb on'. The girl rummaged round and found my new licence among about several hundred others!

I asked at Citizens Centre & was told they only deal with renewals. Exchange licences are dealt with at Driving Centre on Mesogi Road. The form is in Greek, though if there is an version in English, can you please let me know.
