How very sad. It’s a beautiful piece of art.

At least and luckily you can see the birds in situ on Dominic's blog about the statue...

I struggle to understand anyone doing this, how absolutely awful and what a terrible shame.

This makes me very sad. I know the level of graffiti here has really increased in recent years, but I am still very surprised by this vandalism. As Smudger said, it's a terrible shame.

They won't be easy to get rid of in Paphos, someone knows where they are. How sad that such a lovely statue is ruined.

A very upsetting read to think that this fabulous statue had been vandalised .......

I just can't understand the mentality of some people; an item of beauty which gives pleasure to many vandalised by an idiot.

Sadly, things of beauty are invariably vandalised, soiled, ruined....... by idiots Jim. It's the sad world we now all inhabit.

It isn't ruined. The artist said they will be fixing it soon. Just hope they catch the buggers.

When they fix it Dominic, I just hope that it doesn't happen again.

Still can not be as bad as some places in England, thieves can steal your car wheels fast that a F1 team can change them!

I had a large Japanese Maple stolen from my front garden in Lancashire, in full view of the road.
