He logged in today at 3PM, so he is still around. Perhaps he's off on his hols somewhere?

I think he will like knowing that you are missing his posts though. :)

Thanks all, for your concerns! All is fine here, honestly. I spend a good 2 hours daily reading all your marvelous posts, but don't actually reply lately, unless I think I've summat useful to contribute. (Trying to keep my average daily post count on PL to less than 4 per day, by popular request!)

If you can't live in Cyprus, then a daily dose of PL makes you feel like you're there in spirit, if not in body...

Cheers- AL :D

Why can't you live in Cyprus Al? Your heart certainly seems to be in Paphos and not Luton.

Have you had a chance to look at my new site yet? Should be right up your street if you want to get immersed in Cyprus.

Hello Everyone

New member here and my first post. Sorry but I bring sad news.

It appears Paphos Al sadly passed away on 22nd September this year.

Al and myself were administrators of a forum dedicated to Cable and Satellite TV.

I noticed he hadn't logged into our forum since the 19th of September, I have been emailing him, texting and calling his home and mobile number, mobile has been switched off.

As I have some personal details of him, I did some googling on Saturday and found a public notice of his death, his real name and his address did match up. I was very shocked and saddened to find this public notice.

As you may know, his wife passed away in July last year, I don't have contact with his daughter so do not know any other details of his death yet, I do know he had been un-well for several months.

AL was a true gent with a heart of gold who would always go that extra mile to help anyone. I met him for a beer a couple of times when working in his area (Luton), a real gent he was.

As his name suggests, he had a love of Paphos in Cyprus (he used the same name on our forum) and managed to have a holiday in Paphos again earlier this year, I was really so pleased for him.

I was in tears the other night informing people on our forum of this sad news. AL used to mention this forum quite a lot to me (I have enjoyed holidays in Cyprus several times). When googling I came across this post so thought I would sign up to let you all know.

As I say, sorry to bring such sad news.

RIP AL, you will be truly missed by many.

Kindest Regards
Bozzy

Dear Lord, such a shock.
Al and I had been friends for many years, albeit at a distance unless our holidays in Cyprus coincided, which several did in the past. He loved Cyprus with a passion and had spent many years holidays here, travelling around the island, staying in a friends apartment and using his twin cab to explore the island.

Thank you so much Bozzy for letting us know

I'm sure he is reunited with his beloved Georgi. Heartfelt condolences to his daughter and her family.
RIP my dear friend, I will miss you xx

RIP Al. Very sad to hear this news and thank you for informing us Bozzy. Al was not in the best of health but enjoyed his last trip to Paphos in February. He had another trip planned for February this year. Very sad news and he will always be remembered.
