Help please with iPad

Post by Kili01 »

My new iPad has suddenly 'died' after I put it with the battery charger. Now it can't be turned on. Can anyone suggest where I can take it to be repaired, please?
I bought it just over a year ago from Public, but it is probably out of warranty now.
I am now using my old one, but that is probably on its last legs now.

Thanks for any useful suggestions.

Pressing the sleep and home buttons seems to 'fix' a number of problems, it's the iPad equivalent of re-booting your computer. That's what google told me, anyway. Similar things happen on android tablets.

If you still can’t get it to work I would highly recommend SOS in Chlorakas. They always sort ours out for us.

Dominic,
Many thanks! I used your method and it worked! After a few minutes of vigorous( by my standards) pressing of the two buttons it suddenly came back to life again. Must be the iPad equivalent of shock treatment!
What a relief. I will try that technique again in the same situation....
Thanks again, Dominic.

From AL (with a big smug smile)- Thank goodness I don't get such issues on my Win7 desktop!

It was a few weeks ago now. I just did a search on Google...and I'm pretty sure it was Dominic's suggestion which came up and worked first time.
But ... you still haven't told us what you did?

Yes he did. You quoted him saying " I'm pretty sure it was Dominic's suggestion which came up and worked first time".
