Cypriots need that long to recover from the Easter blowout. :)

Did my banking earlier today even though it wasn't due until next Wednesday in order to avoid the queues. One bank was very busy and the other had a queue of only 3 people in front but several cashiers in both.

When we lived in Cyprus . . . . . . . I totally LOVED how much the Cypriot people embraced Easter. It was completely infectious.

I initially used to get slightly frustrated about 'thing's ' not being quite convenient for me at Easter but soon got the boot up the bachoochie I needed to put me firmly in my place. 😁

I lurve the way the GCs 'stretch' the Easter break from Friday through to Tuesday...

Here in UK, the Easter holiday is rather stranger, and always has been. Down south, it's Good Friday until Easter Monday when all the factories (and Banks) shut down.

But go a hundred miles or so up North, and you'll find Good Friday is a normal factory working day (but NOT for the banks), and the factories have the following Tuesday off, when the banks are open again!

Where is the rhyme and reason in THAT? You couldn't make this up if you tried...

And as a civil servant in UK, we also got the afternoon of Maundy Thursday off. So we had a stretched Easter as well.

Tuesday in Cyprus isn't a holiday for everyone though....

I never questioned why we got the afternoon off, Hudswell. I just grabbed it and ran along with the Tuesday added to the late May bank holiday Monday we got for the Queen's birthday.
My holidays were too precious to me to ask why we got them.

Cyprus public holidays were always an added bonus when I worked there, except when they fell on a weekend. No days in lieu of those 😐

Keep your pets close to you at nights during this period. Lodesa Chinese fireworks being thrown around
