I am delighted to announce officially that Dave Asher is now the NEW programmme controller and a new schedule will be in place very shortly! Oh and they're back in Peyia at their original location above the Health Centre!
What Frequency are they on? Can we receive it in Zygi?
Amos.
Maybe you all know of it, but a new to me, (?) an English radio station with no adverts, at the moment, and very easy listening is being strongly received in the Paphos District called "My Radio" on 94.4 MHz. Perhaps a strong contender for Sunshine. I do hope, however, Sunshine will rebrand itself to get rid of its somewhat "difficult" past connections.
Some listeners prefer the banter and music on RockFM despite the constant adverts (which, of course are necessary to generate its income) and some prefer the different genre of Sunshine or My Radio. Some listeners are lucky to receive BBC via the BFPS Radio 1 or 2.
I think we are fortunate to have such a choice.

Been listening to Sunshine for a week or so now & must admit the music selection is far better ............ the only downside is they are promoting advertising on the site which can only mean one thing!
Yes, I am glad to hear that they are sorting themselves out now. I enjoy listening to them.
But I hope that they will be able in time to improve the strength and range of their transmitter. It is difficult to pick it up unless you are close to Paphos. I lose the signal when going eastwards to Kouklia and beyond, also beyond the top of the hill after driving past Tsada en route for Stroumbi/Polemi.
When I drive to Limassol the station switches to Mix FM automatically but when I get back to Paphos I have to reset it manually to get back to Sunshine!

Funny they managed before without much advertising or didn’t you listen to them! And it’s refreshing to listen a station that plays mostly music & not adverts!

So how did they manage to run a radio station with no/little Advertising revenue, who picked up the tab?.
They had advertising before. We used to look forward to the "We are Aqui" adverts that used to appear on the way to school. And implore them to tell us about the Jus.
You had to be there.
