Blood Tests
Good Morning,
I recently saw a GP?Cardiologist for routine review and she has given me a list of blood tests she would like done as part of the check up. If I have them done privately the cost will be 110 euro. I have a State Health card so can I take the list and get the blood tests done at Polis General???, bit cheeky I guess but would be nice to save a few euro!.
I went privately to the doctor because the day I went to the General I think the whole of Polis was here!!

Re: Blood Tests
I would doubt it as I doubt the paper she gave you would be the same as the General and you would need the General stickers on their form. I suppose what you could do is see a Dr at the General and ask if they will send you for that list of tests which would only cost you the €3 to register and 50 c per tick but you would then have to go and pick it up yourself before it got transported to the Hospital Dr.
Re: Blood Tests
Adding to the last post.. At the blood test registration window at Paphos, there is a notice saying that you cannot now collect blood test results, and that they will be sent to your Hospital doctor / consultant..

But I doubt that will be any good on a private doctor's blood test form.. But, you never know.garry&jill wrote: ↑Tue Nov 14, 2017 3:28 pm if you are registered at polis hospital you could go to registration and ask for some stickers

But you still have the problem of getting the results back. Unless Polis Hospital have a different policy than Paphos .

Re: Blood Tests
Does that mean you have to register and pay €3 or €6 just to collect
blood test results from Doc/Consultant ?
Re: Blood Tests
Yes I would say so... BUT.. surely if your doctor, or consultant, said you needed blood tests then you would need to see him or her to discus the results..
I have a blood test form at home now... I will have the tests on the 4th of January and see the consultant on the 8th..

Re: Blood Tests
You make it sound a huge amount, when you get a consultation with a GP or specialist for that as opposed to €110 for the cost of private tests plus the cost of a private specialist consultation at another €50. At the General test results are usually available with a doctor the day after giving the blood sample, apart from PSA tests which have to go to either Nicosia or Limassol. You pays your money and you makes your choice.memory man wrote: ↑Wed Nov 15, 2017 8:54 pmDoes that mean you have to register and pay €3 or €6 just to collect blood test results from Doc/Consultant ?
Re: Blood Tests
there is more information on the 2nd page of this forum, that i initiated a short while ago, also titled blood tests. we went on Monday for the tests, saw the Doctor yesterday, but they are ready next day, discussed the results and they were put in the file, which we keep, so you can peruse at your leisure.. you have to register to get the stickers which are needed on the blood test papers and if you need to get prescriptions. beware, if you go for a prescription with last months stickers! they are not valid for more than one month! you will be turned away. however if you aren't given enough stickers you can go back to reception and ask for more at no extra charge. hope this helps.
Re: Blood Tests
Wife collected her blood tests from Dr Maxim this morning(she had them done yesterday) and did not have to register to see him again.
Re: Blood Tests
I find that most surprising that you can see a GP without registering ie without getting a number or 'labels'. But well done

Re: Blood Tests
That's the same in polis trev if you just want to know if the blood test was ok e.g. INR etc
I just pop in and see the cardiologist without booking in she seems fine with that

Re: Blood Tests
Chances are that tone's wife had actually paid her registration fee and got the labels when she first visited the GP and got the papers to take with her when she went to give the blood samples required on those papers. So all she was doing was to go to the GP as a follow up consultation and as such does not require registration and the labels as those issued to her on her initial visit would still be valid.
