Blessed to live here...

Post by cyprusmax47 »

Very nice article in CWeekly.
Not to forget that Weather conditions are very balanced in CY unlike Central Europe. No nasty
wind storms, floods, avalanches, large tremors. Day and night temperatures
differ only 10C., and with the humidity one can cope.

It is quite beautiful in Cyprus, and the snow in the morning/beach in the afternoon thing is almost unique in the world I believe. I have never been anywhere else that makes me feel so happy, long may it continue.

With being a 'returner'to the Island. I can truly say that we are glad to be back!

No tinted glasses worn here but enjoy what we have at this moment in time. Good health being paramount, less stressful style of living and the sun being out is a bonus in January.

We are only here once!

Could not agree more .

If you have a decent income, have avoided the legal pitfalls of moving here , can isolate yourself from the various flaws and accept the cultural differences it is indeed one of the most welcoming places the in the world to live. That is down to the basic nature of the majority of the people as much as the climate.

Long may it continue

Four years and counting ... we had an agreement to return after twelve months if either of us was unhappy. Strangely enough, we talked about it eighteen months after arrival. As far as we are concerned we are here for the duration (Brexit willing) and will apply for permanent residence after our fifth year.

Hi All

We are due to move over soon. Cyprus has been our long term plan. We have had property for the last 12 years in Paphos and 3 years ago moved to Stroumbi. We can't wait although we know we will have a few obstacles to over come as I am on daily medication and we will need to get private medical insurance, but we don't want it it to stop us moving over. Looking forward to joining you all soon!

All the best to you Yvette and Wensbry.

We have had a busy 5 weeks since I came on the 'one way ticket'. Hubby had been here already for 5 weeks prior to me arriving.
Must say have got a lot sorted now and having time to relax and enjoy Cyprus.

The first time we came it was April 17th 2008 to live and have found it better this time as it's a bit cooler to get things sorted.

The time will pass very quickly now Wensbry.

I would be really grateful if those who have recently moved over could share their experiences on setting things up like health care etc and getting prescriptions for medication. I regularly pop into Polemi to go to the bank, it's a lovely village.

Thanks

Yvette

Neither of us are on any medication so unable to help you on that.
As my hubby has turned 65 in October we will be sorting out a medical card.

If there is anything I can help you with just ask.

I have found that this forum has been a great help in the last 5 weeks.

When do you arrive?

Hi Sue

We are coming over on Saturday for just less than 3 weeks and we haven't got a moving date yet but it will be sooner rather than later. I will be 53 in February and my husband will be 58 in March so we have some time to go befor we can get a health card.

Thanks for your kind offer - I am sure I will be making use of it!

Many thanks

Yvette

First time I came to Cyprus was in 1974, it was also the first time I got shot at, the bullet-hole is still there, our OP was by the mosque, near the old market and the sanger is still on top of the corner building....fond memories.....Dominic, put away that sniper's rifle.
