Tomb of the Kings, Venus Beach and the Eliathon. Just for Jagwheels!

Post by Dominic »

Let's have a nice Sunday Morning film showing a bird's eye view of the area between Tomb of the Kings and the Eliathon Hotel in Paphos. I've added a nice serene soundtrack to match the Autumnal mood of the film, which was recorded as the sun began to wane a couple of days ago.

Great video I didn’t realise that so many buildings have appeared in that area you have a completely different prospective from above and the coastline

It's actually a hotel, the King Evalthon, Chloraka. It was a lovely, unspoilt coast when I first came to Chloraka a few years ago. But like everywhere else is all too rapidly being developed.
Anyone remember the pop song about little boxes made of ..... ...which all look the same?
Actually, seem to be mainly summer homes...
But a very nice paved coastal path runs along nearly all the way to Paphos.

It depends where you are flying it. It's just like home wifi in that respect. Out across the sea, it can fly for miles. You should keep it in Visual Line of Sight blah blah blah, but it can go a long way, allegedly.

However, if you are filming it in a gorge, and you fly around a corner, you will lose contace. So normally when I fly I seek a high point to fly from, and dip down where appropriate. I am trying to get as much coastal filming done as possible now, because during the nesting season there is a real danger of the drone getting attacked by birds.

I recall when the Venus Beach Hotel marked the end of urban development on that route, 1987 was the year.
Ticking away, the moments that make up a dull day.
