What's really involved with servicing LG aircon units?

Post by kansas »

We have had our LG aircon units for 3 years. They are great, heat the house in the winter as well as keeping it cool during the summer months.

When we first came to live here and had the original aircon units, a local guy would come out once a year and service all 3 of them. Not only did he service the in-house units, but he also went up on the roof and checked and cleaned the external ones.

Since our LG units were installed we have had them serviced just the once. The guy came and spent all of half an hour on the 3 units, didn't check the external ones, and charged us €120. The technician came from our original supplier who is a well known local name.

Although we know of people who service their own units, we don't feel confident doing this ourselves.

Are we expecting too much from the service, or should we seek an alternative service provider?

If that's the case, any suggestion?

The guy who does ours puts a plastic container against the wall which catches the water he sprays throw them to clean them, messy job.
