Electricity Bills
Re: Electricity Bills
Has anyone taken up the option to pay a monthly direct debit for their electricity bills?
Just wondering how it has worked out for you?
How long did it take once the form was completed?
Is it worth doing?
I see it as a way of budgeting for the highs and lows in the year.
Many thanks in advances of replies.

Re: Electricity Bills
I arranged for EAC to debit my account bimonthly with the usage as read or estimate.
Re: Electricity Bills
Just received mine via e mail, thereabouts on time and meter read not an estimate, have to say its more than expected with less units used.
I started off with nothing and have most of it left !
Re: Electricity Bills
Finally the bill 3/5-14/7 arrived .....estimated, but they still charged for the Meter Reading?
Only €25 ...
Only €25 ...
Re: Electricity Bills
Just think how many people are paying out and don't notice.
I there over charging on a regular basis then that corporate fraud.

Re: Electricity Bills
I've also received an estimated bill that charged for a meter reading. It was based on last year's usage, when the house was empty, so was 0 kWh. It still came to €7.70 though! I'm steeling myself for a whopper of a bill next time.
Re: Electricity Bills
Inclusive of all charges my bill dated 14 July works out at 0.37 cents per unit.
I just divided the amount payable by the number of units used (not concerned about the breakdown in costs).
Re: Electricity Bills
It would be necessary though to know that breakdown because if you consumed only a few units the consumption-dependent costs will account for the majority of the total, whereas if you consumed a lot the fixed costs will pale. I´d be curious to know the consumption dependent cost in order to know how much my PV-system is saving me.
Re: Electricity Bills
Same calculation for our end of June bill is €0.05 per kilowatt based on consumption with net metering, so roughly 85% less per unit. That’s pretty consistent year round compared with our other non net metered properties.

Saw this. Read it a couple of times. Can not fathom it out.
Anyone thoughts on it please.
