When did Cyprus get a "Breakaway region"?

Post by Dominic »

I haven't heard the illegally occupied area called a Breakaway regime before. It implies the plucky residents are trying to establish their own identity.

Is this a new term?

Factually correct as seen through Republic of Cyprus eyes. And yes! Turkey is trying hard to annex the northern part and add it to Turkey. It would be part of the Mersin area. At present any post sent to N.Cyprus is sent via Turkey, then forwarded from there.

Dombask etc.... isn't that what they are referring to it..... a Breakaway region due to the supporters in that region ?
