Found that nice video recently and thought it would give you an idea what is really cold and snowy.

In Avers in the Swiss canton of Graubünden there is not a single disco, police officer, doctor or cinema. Juf in the municipality of Avers is the highest permanently inhabited settlement in Europe. Here at 2,126 meters above sea level it is winter for seven months of the year.

You can adjust the subtitles if they are in German language and also the quality to at least 720p - some will enjoy that video, I am sure...

When I did the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal I was surprised to find a German Bakery in the village of Tatopani. There were no roads there at the time. You got around by foot or on donkey.
