Thanks Memory Man. I checked out the Geroskipou Paps this morning and it wasn't there yet.

Dave (Reesy) approached me a while ago about incorporating bits of the Paphos Life forum into the Grapevine magazine. It is early days yet but looking at the online version I think it fits in well.

The aim is two-fold:

1. Firstly, it gives Grapevine some interesting content.
2. It gives Paphos Life some free publicity.

Dave himself decides which snippets of threads are most suited for the magazine. Assuming I agree I then prepare the pages and send them the finished content. It works well that way, because Dave knows what his readership wants, and I am happy knowing that the text will appear "as is".

If anybody has any other questions, feel free to ask. :)

Hope I'm not out of order asking this Dominic, but is Dave the owner of both The Grapevine and Cyprus Living Magazine?

I think so, yes. He will be able to give you the definitive answer himself though.

I should point out, to avoid any confusion, that Cyprus Living magazine had nothing to do with the old Cyprus Living forum, other than the name.

When we first arrived here, the "Grapevine" was a "must have" magazine when it was made available the 1st Friday of the month. People used to go to places where it was available and take up to 10? copies for themselves and their friends and as a result distribution was limited. Would be readers became uninterested as you could never get a copy and as a result over the years advertisers and readers became fewer and fewer, in the end being overtaken probably by "Pafos Post". Cyprus Living has always been an "adverts only' magazine with very little interesting content. Let's hope the new venture will be better, good luck.

perhaps to put both online links into "useful information" to avoid not getting a printed copy at supermarkets... as it was posted from Alan.

We were interviewed by the Grapevine many moons ago quite soon after we started our website up in Cyprus (2008).

We specialised in certain Cypriot hobby /collectible items and the request to discuss it with us came quite out of the blue. My other half was the person they spoke to at the time. We still continue the website now we're back in UK, hence having to have a 20ft shipping container when we returned. If we hadn't had all those damn boxes, we could have returned with just a couple suitcases each!

It's great to see the magazine is still up and running :-)

I just checked back as I still have the text from the article on our website - it was back in August 2010. How quickly time flies!

Just to pick up on a couple of points: I believed it was important to try and keep Grapevine magazine going , Cyprus Living stepped in to help. The original owner Anne-Marie is still the editor and we help out with the sales and administration side. It is important to realise with all Free publications without advertising there would be no magazines or newspapers. On many occasions these publications are used as a directory to find a specific business or service provider. I can also remember in the early days of Grapevine over 15 years ago getting a supermarket in Coral Bay to put me a copy under the counter! Finally , as for Grapevine , we are trying to make it a interesting and informative read covering as many local events as possible , so if you how any article or photographs please send them to us and we will do our best to print them..sorry for banging on , but we are very fond of Grapevine and the early memories it brings.

Hello Reesy,

Firstly, thank you and the team for the May addition.

It is great to have the Grapevine back.

We should, appreciate that you have taken the time and investment to get it back up and running. You did not need to do this with, having your other publication 'out there'.

On-wards and up-wards I say! Good luck for the coming months.
Happy to be back on the Island!

Grapevine was always my favorite of all the magazines over the years. A truly informative read that was useful to go back to again and again.

I still have my December 2007 edition of 170 pages which I enjoy perusing several times a year.

If anyone would like to send in any articles ( together with photographs if available) we will do our best to publish them. We are also looking for Front Cover photographs..obvious they need to be portrait and in high resolution. If you are not sure just send them in and we will let you know. Send to: afdrltd@cytanet.com.cy. Many Thanks.

Hello Reesy, what is the distribution area? You say all Paps, but is that all Paps in Paphos or all Paps in Cyprus? There are a lot of Paps in Cyprus.

Will I be able to find a copy in Stroumpi?
