Take away everything that these morons possess – and I mean everything, including their bootlaces – and make them destitute, separating them from their normal environment. Then set them free without even a cent, so that they are in a kind of moral prison, living on their wits, ostracised. In other words, living like moufflons. Such a harsh punishment for, say, a year would be more appropriate for these animals than the luxury of a prison sentence, where they are fed and given medical attention.

Hunting, never understood this here, very brave killing gods creatures which means humans no harm. what a vice to have.
Re: Three men arrested for illegally hunting mouflon
Yes, agree with the above. Anyone caught hunting Mouflon deserves to feel the full weight if the law they have broken.Maybe prison sentences are not severe enough, they shoud be sentenced to hard labour instead..

Apparently they would be liable to €40,000 fine per animal and /or3 years imprisonment, sometimes both.
Ticking away, the moments that make up a dull day.
Re: Three men arrested for illegally hunting mouflon
That would certainly be a deterrent if enforced.

Somehow I do not see the State recovering €80k from the accused in these times.

You do actually. I delete most of them when I see them.

Dominic, I meant 71 Trans Am, just a slip.
I don't like your remark Dominic about me.
Unfortunately, I tend to post things as I see them. Its supposed to be reasonably free speech here isn't it? I don't necessarily agree with some posters views on things on everything and I know that there are many others who actually agree with what I write. But some people are reluctant to post their views on this board, if they don't always agree with yours.
When we first came to live in Cyprus, the Mouflon had been nearly hunted to extinction and was only saved by a Govt decision to catch as many of the survivors as possible, and to create a secure fenced area for this at Stavros Tis Stokis, high in the Troodos, where they were kept in safety, fed, cared for and a breeding programme for them established. Only in the last few years have they been allowed to roam again. Hunting them is a terrible crime.
When I advocated forced labour for the morons who kill Mouflon for profit, of course I am aware that a judge can only order a punishment which the law of the country allows.
It was only a throwaway remark, written tongue in cheek!

You have 100% missed the point. 100%.
Trans Am asked you why you posted stuff twice.
You said you don't.
I said that actually you do, because you do, quite a lot. When I see you have posted twice I delete the duplicate. I don't bother mentioning it, because it is no big deal.
That is what I was talking about in my post. I have no idea what you are going on about in your post regarding the Mouflon. You have got completely the wrong end of the stick.
Incidentally, recently, I noticed I was doing a lot of duplicate posting too. I bought myself a new mouse, and the problem went away.

Re: Three men arrested for illegally hunting mouflon
It seems that we don't understand each others posts, Dominic. I thought what I wrote was quite clear about the Mouflon and I have also been reading the press reports. I hope that the court (judge)will treat this offence for butchering 2 Mouflon seriously, when it comes to trial. Hopefully steep fines and a prison sentence will put other would be poachers off.
My tablet has a touch screen, so no need for a mouse. But its getting old and slow, so may think about a replacement when funds allow.

I understood you perfectly. It just didn't make sense in the context of you posting twice.
