HMRC tax refund

Post by Sadie »

I’m only a youngster, so this is all new to me
I’ve recently drawn down a pension fund held in a company in UK
Obviously tax has been deducted at source in UK
As I am a resident here (MEU3) and have my TIC number from Cypriot tax office.
I’ve rung HMRC this morning who instructed me to complete the form DT individual and return to UK tax office once completed
My question is on the form it asks for a signature & stamp of someone in the tax office here.
How easy will this be do you think, if they will accommodate the request at all?
Many thanks

Sadie

I did it recently.
Download the form from HMG website and fill it in.
Take it to the Tax Office and submit the form.
When I did this they were under Covid lockdown so they had boxes in the vestibule and you left your application there. I think you can go in now so ask at reception and she will direct you to the responsible lady.
You have to pay €80 for a revenue stamp which you get from another lady in the same building.

It's straight forward, just done mine this week ..having downloaded DT form, fill in and submit to Tax office here ,along with copies of MEU3, title deeds or rental agreement plus utility bills and passport...
They will then contact you to pop in and pay €80 per person for the DT forms to signed and stamped....

Hubby did it through an accountant earlier this yr as was dealing with other stuff for us. It took 6 months to get the tax back from HMRC.

Thanks Dodo
I've been waiting over three months now and was starting to wonder what was going on. I hope it comes sooner than the 6 months you had to wait.

How long did you wait for the Tax office to ring you for you to go in to pay the 80€
