Water bills

Post by Cappielow1 »

Can water water bills be paid on line or by bankers draft?

My neighbor says she pays her bills by card from the UK.

I went up to the water department today and was told that the water bills must be paid from a direct debit from a bank.

Maybe things were lost in translation, the lady I spoke to did not speak great English and I have no Greek.

Can anyone assist.

Thanks in advance

I pay online via JCC, I have a 4 digit reference number I put in and it brings up the bill. I think if I remember correctly the Chloraka municipal office set it up but it was years ago so may be wrong. 8-)

I usually pay mine (to Chloraka) by cheque because on one occasion I cam back from an absence of 6 weeks to a grossly inflated water bill, which I had to dispute. Which was easier as I could withhold payment until a substantially lower figure had been offered and agreed.

I also once had a very large bill whilst I was away owing to a leak on the roof, when i explained the problem to the municipal office in Chloraka and put it in writing they cancelled the excess charges and I just paid what would have been my average. Excellent service. 8-)

So are the ones in Emba. I pay via JCC.

The staff in Paphos are very different.

I pay all my bills through BOC Utilities - electric, CYTA, water, rates.
