At the moment the road works are starting at the Garden of Eden.Going down towards town is no problem,coming back you are diverted left just before Garden of Eden, you can then drive up towards Lidl and come back out on Ellados. Hope this helps.

Going downhill on the Polis Rd, is it closed from the Viofos lights downwards?
How far down?
I've never heard of the garden of Eden (only in the bible!)

Yes J B, it is closed at Viofos traffic lights at its upper end (ie Pafos>Mesoghi Avenue).
Link shows Alpha Bank which is below Sklavenitis formerly Carrefour formerly ChrisCash and if you expand view diagonally opposite is Garden of Eden and Vyzantiou Street is just below Garden of Eden.

Not having been yet I am not sure if the northbound lane is closed from the traffic lights, or from a little lower down ie at the Lidl Junction.
Garden of Edem may not be known to you but I think you will know where Costa's Tyres was.. They are/were opposite each other.

Likewise, not driven that way but the article states: 'closed from the height of Byzantium Street until 200 meters after Lidl supermarket'.

Makes sense as otherwise people would drive through Lidl car park and up the ramp to access the main road to Viofos traffic lights.

But it would have been be handy to drive UP the road 'Ypsilantou' and come out at Lidl, opposite the MOT place

That's where I bought my first Pajero from in 2003 and Gwenny was the Miss Fixit with the Ministry of Transport.

Well, it is 5 or 6 weeks since the road works began and the Diversions were put into place.
Everything seems to have been working reasonably well, people wanting to travel North on Ellados Avenue have used the 'Ypsilantou' road and come out at the side of the Lidl store..

So, what a surprise I had this afternoon when I took that route from Timeout Kiosk to Join Ellados avenue at Lidl ... NOT POSSIBLE... The road is closed with big signs up. You can get to Lidl car park, but you cannot get through to Ellados Avenue.
I made my way back towards town and then across Ellados Avenue and eventually turned left onto the road that goes past the Evangelismos Hospital... This comes out onto the Dual Carriageway where you have to turn left and make your choices from there.

Turn right after Bionic then left. You end up at the old Beauty Shop.

That's OK, but not if you are on the road past Lidl..

The Lidl carpark was totally gridlocked yesterday with people trying to cut through to Ellados Avenue,

I didn't go into Lidl car Park but I imagine that there is no exit onto Ellados Avenue.
As Dominic says, you have to make your way across Ellados Avenuenear Bionic and then turn left towards the hospital

Trev, we just went back the opposite way to the traffic, headed towards Chloraka, turned right on to the Tala road, the right again to come out at the Abbeygate offices and then back kn track U.K. Mesolithic as usual. Added about 4 mins to our journey back to Polemi.

Ah but I had just come from Chloraka to the Time out Kiosk and turned uphill .. I am informed now, but I had no idea about the changes then I was going to the back of Nikonikkos

I would suggest trying to go early in morning to Paphos, if you can. Roads are generally much quieter then. Hope you got to Dr Lenia's OK, Trev. I have an appt with her next Monday.
