Here’s a funny thing. About 8 weeks ago I ordered an air purifier from Amazon uk . I was charged for the product and prepaid duty. In addition the only option in terms of sending it was expedited delivery. It came very quickly by UPS. Nothing different to what I expected.
Last week I ordered another from Amazon uk. (Not available from Amazon de) . This time I was only charged for the product (no prepaid duty) and was given the option of standard or expedited delivery. I chose standard at around £40 rather than expedited at £86. It still came by UPS within a few days and I did not have to pay any duty.
As a matter of interest everything I have ordered from amazon de recently has come via UPS even though I only paid for standard delivery. Most of you will know that standard delivery used to take a couple of weeks or so.
