Cyprus Mail issues

Post by MacManiac »

The Cyprus Mail website is just about unreadable at the moment on my iPad - thanks to a floating advert that cannot be removed as far as I can see. Is it just me or is everyone affected?

This isn't the first time the Mail has had adverts like this and it is extremely annoying.

Somebody is probably experimenting with advert types. If you find them annoying you should post something on their facebook page or similar. If they don't get feedback, they won't know about it.

And please, as sites rely on advertising, including this one, don't encourage the use of ad-blockers. That is effectively just stealing content. I am not referring to MacManiac, but any post that might be tempted to do that.

I report the advert back to Google when given that option and report it under "Ad covers content" whether it does or doesn't.

The UK tabloids are bad for this and for that reason, I try to stay clear as much as possible.

The answer is to read the paper version of the Cyprus Mail. I do just that every day.

The biggest problem with the Cyprus Mail site at the moment is that it doesn't seem to be updated very often.

I’ve noticed this too! Even if you click a link on Twitter to read an article, it’s often difficult to find it on the website if you try to find it afterwards.
