Free rapid antigen tests to end soon?

Post by galexinda »

The Ministry of Health puts an end to the free rapid tests - Apocalyptic information

15/06/21 21:01
The day is approaching when the free provision of rapid tests for citizens will end, according to information from OMEGA.

Within the next few days, the Ministry of Health is expected to announce the end of the free rapid screening tests, since, as the Minister of Health, Konstantinos Ioannou, had pointed out, when there would be vaccines available for everyone, then the free sampling would end.

What will happen to all the school children as they have to have the tests and all those who through medical reasons can not have the vaccines. Totally unfair to charge for this. Also, how will the Govt now who has COVID-19 and who has not as there will be no method to count.

Seems rather extreme as the government has relied heavily on the daily tests to get a better idea of the number and source of positive Covid cases and made decisions as a result.

A question of affordability too as tests can cost up to €20 each, although €10 is the norm.

I haven't seen any mention of this in the English version of a Greek website so far.
At the moment all those workers who work in offices, shops or places where they meet the public have to have a rapid antigen test every week. While some professions and people who haven't had their jabs yet need a rapid test to go to certain places the Mall or a theatre or cinema being just three.
