Paphos Life

I wonder if it is only at my place in the Paphos hinterland,( 450m sealevel), so hot this morning 10AM with temperature 34.2c right now... not to forget that it is only the 3.May. Even a little bit a Yoga is already too much...

It is unusually warm outside. We have 31.5 registering just outside Polemi. We managed yesterday with No Aircon. Not sure about today though. Dog walking (a short one) in half an hour..

Surely 39c cannot be in full shade ?? Although we are far from sea level we have yet to reach 33c today

But if you live in a sheltered valley, temps can be a lot higher. Alway notice when I drive past Pissouri on the highway that the temp goes up about 5C, but then comes down once past.

How hot is a piece of string? It all depends on tens of variables and, unless you have a sophisticated system, there is little chance of getting away with it. I have three weather stations, each with a sophisticated temperature measuring system. You will all have seen photographs of the white wooden boxes used to house thermometers and, even so, there are variations between the results, albeit less than 1° , so, don't worry if the temperature you measure is considerably different from that of your neighbour. FYI, it reached 35.5°C here ±0.5°today and I'll guarantee that,
