From Tala Monastery to St George's Church

Post by Dominic »

Today we are having a drive through the area west of Paphos. We start at Agios Neophytos (Tala) Monastery. Built in the 12 century, it still functions as a monastery, as well as housing a museum.

If you visit, please dress modestly.

There is also a nice cafe here, which occasionally hosts a market.

Once we leave the monastery we head on into Tala. We turn right at the Amphitheatre, then down the hill to the main road. We cross the main road, and continue into the countryside.

Eventually we get to Lempa, where we visit the Art College and the Archaeological Village. Finally we cross the coast road and visit St George's Church.

The film is sponsored by Recytree.

Excellent, many thanks.
Is there a map view of it?
I got a bit lost in lower Tala, where we have owned a house for 20+ years!

Superb Dominic - thanks so much for these videos.

I'm sure like us there are a lot of people in the UK getting great enjoyment and comfort from these videos. This one goes right past our place in Kissonerga...fingers crossed for a 360 version!

Cheers

Thank you. Glad you like them.

The 360 one should be processed by Youtube later today.

The next one will be a drive from the airport to Paphos Harbour.

Our daughter goes to an art club in Kissonerga. Well, when COVID allows it she does anyway. We are forever looking at quicker routes to get there from Polemi. Save for a slightly detour (I made by mistake) this is the quickest route we have found so far. It is at least 5 - 10 minutes quicker than driving down to Paphos and turning right at Paps.

You should have turned left at the little church below Tala ... that's where I got lost on your journey.
