Carreafore
I had reason to go to carreafore today, haven't been for a while has it been taken over by another company
as there was no sign outside and the familiar carrier bags have changed

Re: Carreafore
Is the stock the same?
Carrefore was a franchise. I believe the franchise holders got fed up with dealing with Carrefore and went with other suppliers. Hence my question.

I must admit I only bought 1 item and it wasn't until I got outside I realised that the big sign had been removed

Re: Carreafore
As I understand it, the owners decided, for whatever reason, to end their Carefour franchise and revert to their own name of Sklavenitis. So it's the same owners (from Greece) using their real name. One immediate benefit in the mall outlet, the wet fish counter is back.

Re: Carreafore
It's been coming for some time. Chris Cash & Carry Ltd, who held the franchise for Carrefour via Greece, has parted company with the Greek side of things and I suspect the shops will now trade under the Sklavenitis brand. One Cypriot lady ahead of us at checkout today was not impressed to be told that her Bonus Card was no longer valid - she had managed to walk in past the large sign explaining about the bonus cards and how to claim your points!
We so rarely use Carrefour that I long ago ditched the Bonus Card. I much prefer the Papantoniou's system of a money-back voucher - or certain other shops where the lack of bonus cards is reflected in lower prices in the first instance!

Actually the Mall one is still branded as Carrefore, I believe, or however you spell it.

Re: Carreafore
The shop in the mall is now labelled differently - in Greek letters - so I cannot read it and would probably translate as bad as most of you spell Carrefour
Re: Carreafore
You would feel like at home in Sklavenitis Louise - the staff are all in bright orange

Yes, especially on April 27th, our King Alexanders birthday. The whole of The Netherlands will be coloured in orange !'

Re: Carreafore
Actually never really thought much of carrefour myself, OK I guess but it's just an average shop never really inspired me, prefer other supermarkets in town but good luck to them.
I started off with nothing and have most of it left !
Re: Carreafore
Talking of spelling (and strictly tongue in cheek), ast, but do you really reside in Chloaraka, or did you mean Chlorakas in your PL Profile, I wonder?
