Sinti Monastery Revisited

Sinti Monastery is one of the hidden jewels of the Cyprus countryside. A couple of years ago we published a blog by our friend Max, who did a nice road-trip to the site. We recently returned, with our drone, to see how it was coping with the pandemic...

In 2017 when I did my last trip to Sinti Monastery, coming from high up near Salamiou it was only a dirt road the last 2 km's or so, but there was a proper bridge you can see on the photo from that time. This bridge disappeared completely after the heavy rains in 2018/19...

I still wonder whereabout the "Olive Accessories" which you photographed are located, as I never saw anything there....It could be also a ancient wine press if you ask me...

Anyhow the blog is a nice reminder where to go in the near future as soon as the virus is gone.

It was in one of the rooms. I shall have to look at my drone footage to find the exact one.

I went back to my photo gallery 4 years ago and found within more than 100 pics that the millstone was in the high building of the complex, so sorry I forgot about it, obviously mixed up with photos from Salamiou Monastery with it's plenty millstones on display, which I visited one week before...
